Kun Hong

Born from a practice that preceded commerce, KUN HONG is the vision of Chinese-American designer Kitty Kun Hong - a contemporary label making clothing and accessories for bold, intelligent people with unconfined spirits.

Established in 2020, studio KUN HONG has continued to celebrate the legacy of womanhood while restructuring cultural heritage in a globalized context. Steeped in history and rigorous research - and borrowing on methods from semiotics, anthropology, and public art approaches - the system of KUN HONG aims to redefine fashion as a conduit for introspection, connection, and intellectual empowerment for all.

The Chua bag collection is defined by signature clean lines and the artistry of its wrapped leather double handles. This tactile detail anchors both silhouettes — the statement Mother satchel bag, with its elongated form and assured volume, and the versatile Daughter mini bag, which distills the same architectural codes into a compact proportion. Together, they create a dialogue between strength and delicacy. Two unique styles are available in a range of colorways and material variants.

Made in New York City, these bags mark the first-ever product offering of the KUN HONG label. For the launch campaign, the Set Designer played a pivotal role in shaping the visual narrative, transforming an existing location with colorful, kid-oriented décor into a refined, luxurious setting that echoed the elegance of the handbags. Each space was reimagined with a minimal, high-end sensibility incorporating carefully chosen pieces and textures. Strategic use of color and materials unified the spaces, creating an identifiable brand and lending cohesion across both photo and video. At the heart of the imagery, the set design enhanced the campaign’s story: the layered, compelling dynamic of a mother-daughter relationship.
